Mortwing™
"There's always a hill. There's always a dark under it. And there's always a stair going down that nobody built."
Azazel Wickerman inherited exactly two things from her house's broken name: a creaking manor, and the Seal on her arm. One takes up space. The other just takes.
At nineteen, the last daughter of the Wickerman line is famous for precisely nothing — except falling down. So when her Crownguard cell is ordered into the Bleached Forest to find the source of a spreading corruption, the mission should be simple: get in, mark the site, come home.
But the forest has gone the color of bone, the outposts have stopped answering — and with every step Azazel takes toward the dead heart of it, the mark that has spent nineteen years taking from her begins, for the first time, to want…

Black Feather Works™
A one-person dark-fantasy studio building a single world across two stories — a novel and a game, a thousand years apart.
Black Feather Works began with a simple, stubborn idea: that a world is richer when you can both read it and walk it. So it's being built from two ends at once — Mortwing™, a slow-burn, character-driven light-novel series with a mythic-gothic edge, and Mortwing™: Age of Old Gods, a dungeon RPG set a thousand years before the novel, in the age the story only remembers in rumor.
The story, in brief. Long before either era, an empress made a bargain with something that should never have been spoken to. An empire rose on the strength of it — and one family has been quietly paying the price ever since, one daughter in every generation, for longer than anyone living can remember. The game walks an age still living in the long shadow of that bargain. The novel follows the descendant who finally has to settle it.
The house style: slow dread, stubborn characters, and a dark that keeps its own patient time beneath the story.
Mortwing has been eight years in the making — notebooks, outlines, and half-finished builds — and for most of that time it was too big for one person to finish. AI changed that. It's used openly across the workshop, as a tool in one person's hands: every word, note, and design decision is directed and finished by a human, and the vision, the taste, and the mistakes are all mine. Without it, Mortwing would still be in a drawer. Instead, it's getting built — a chapter and a build at a time.
If you're reading this early, you're early. Thank you for that.
